As part of the recent website infrastructure upgrade, we've added the capability to create local nicknames that can be authenticated via OpenID.

OpenID is supported by sites such as Live Journal, so you can use your Live Journal account as an OpenID here.

Your browser needs to accept cookies from Stardancer.org as well.

For the moment, what you get from creating a local nickname is the ability to edit comments you've made on images after you've made them. We may be adding additional minor tweaks in the future (ability to show your persal home page URL in the profile page, maybe the ability to choose a favorite image, etc.) Some of this will just depend on how well this system shakes out.

Stardancer.org does not see your LiveJournal.com password. The OpenID pages have the details on how the process works.

The ability to create local nicknames/accounts on stardancer.org is provided as-is, as a convience for our repeat visitors to make it easier to commenton images. It provides no rights or guarantees to usage of the system, and comments may be removed at the judgement of the administrators.

(Necessary verbage so we can remove entries from people trying to inject advertisements into the comments.)
